Rain Water Storage in Decorative and Functional Rain Barrels

.
As the climate worldwide turns crazy on us, the importance of conserving water cannot be stressed enough. These days, we should maximize all the resources we have, including rain water. Conserving water through rain harvesting will not only help in environmental efforts but will also save us money in these times of financial crisis. Rain water can be stored in rain barrels.

The good news is that you can now have a rain barrel that is not only functional but also decorative. You can integrate your rain water barrels into your garden or landscaping design. There is even a rain water barrel that looks like a Grecian pedestal planter. It can actually be topped with a flowering plant. If your style is more casual, there are also rain barrels for sale with more rugged designs. For example, there is a rain barrel for sale that looks like an aged wooden barrel, complete with faux wood grain.

You can use the stored rain water to water your plants, clean your vehicles or do other cleaning around the house. And you can do it in style!

GM Sells Hummer to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corp.

The Hummer, popular as an all-American truck, is being sold by General Motors Co. to the Chinese Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corp.

Sales of the Hummer have plummeted as gas prices increased. With the minimum fuel usage of 16 miles per gallon or 14.7 liters per 100 kilometers, it has been eclipsed by other vehicles with less demanding engines.

Under its new owners, the Hummer is expected to be improved with more efficient engines that use less gas and have the ability to run on alternative fuels. There are also plans of adding diesel engines and six-speed transmissions.

Hopefully, the makeover will revive the Hummer's former glory.
